My Take on Rebecca Black

Before the immediate media backlash that is inevitably to come from Rebecca Black’s newest  video debacle. I’d like to put my two cents worth out there now. Don’t get me wrong, when I first saw her newest video, my initial reaction was to punch her in the taco and tell her to stop. Then I came to realize what I was actually doing. I was jumping on the same band wagon the media and all the internet trolls are on. Nobody likes being the butt of a joke, especially the one Rebecca created with the now infamous “Friday”.

I stepped back for a moment and thought to myself, I’m ridiculing a child for her actually doing what makes her happy. I might as well just go to the Special Olympics and yell at all the participants, “Nice Try, ASSHOLES!”.

So I say to you Rebecca, congratulations on going back out there from the onslaught of negativity and the slew of parodies that came of “Friday” and taking a chance to live out your dream.  It’s still crappy music and I don’t personally  like it but don’t let my opinion discourage you from doing something that brings you joy in life.

Who the fuck am I to judge, really?

My advice, is to own up to the crap. Become the Uwe Bol of YouTube crappy videos. Be on the inside of the joke and keep them coming and become a cult favorite amongst the fans. You’d be a Legend.
